BLADENBORO, NC—Mr. James Robert Carter, 86, of 131 Harvey Hunter Road, Bladenboro, NC, died Sunday, July 11, at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1604 White Plains Church Road, Clarkton, NC. Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery in Whiteville. Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Viewing will be at the church Monday one hour prior to the service, at which time the family will receive friends. Surviving are his wife, Louise Carter; daughters, Valinda Turner of Pfafftown, NC, Shelbia Wiley of Clemmons, NC, and Janice Carter of Cary, NC; sons, Kenneth Carter of Whiteville and Levon Carter of Fair Bluff, NC; sisters, Lillian Currie of Maryland, Creola King and Geanetta Gillespie of Whiteville, Barbara Anderson and Loretta Carter of Ohio.
