WHITEVILLE—Mr. George Wesley “Buddy” Threadgill, Jr., 72, of 246 Twin Pines Road, Whiteville, died Monday, July 19, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 433 West Virgil Street, Whiteville, by Rev. David Flowers. Burial will be in the Faulk Cemetery in Bladenboro, NC. Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Thursday from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon. Viewing will be at the church Friday one hour prior to the service and again following the service. There will be a wake Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Surviving are daughters, Joanne Garcia, Dawn Garrett, and Lillie Deloris Threadgill of Whiteville; sons, Gene Threadgill and Chris Threadgill of Whiteville, George M. Threadgill of Durham, NC, and Henry Threadgill of Greenville, SC; sisters, Mary Pouncy of New York, Lucille Phifer of Kannapolis, NC, Ruth Floyd of Whiteville, and Magdalene Leach of Fayetteville, NC; brother, Richard Threadgill of Whiteville. Friends may visit the family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Threadgill, 171 Pineway Drive, Whiteville.
