HALLSBORO, NC--Mrs. Joyce Ann Thurman, 62, of 627 Jockey Road, Hallsboro, NC, died Monday, July 19, at Duke University Medical Center. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 26, at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 210 Hallsboro Road South, Hallsboro, NC, by Rev. Franklin Graham. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Jonathan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 9200 Cornwall Road, Oxford, NC. Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be at the church Monday one hour prior to the service and again following the service. There will be a wake Sunday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Surviving are her husband, Gene A. Thurman; daughters, Toni Thurman and Monica Thurman of Cary, NC, and Kecia Bland of Raleigh, NC; mother, Mary Lou Tuck of Oxford, NC; sister, Janice D. Johnson of Raleigh, NC; brother, Stanley Holloway of Durham, NC; and three grandchildren.
