WILMINGTON—Bennie Vereen, Jr., 61, of 5041 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, died Monday, May 20, at his residence.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25, at the Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville by Rev. David Flowers. Burial will be in the Flag Patch Cemetery in Loris, SC.
Viewing will be at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service.
Surviving are his wife, Ella Rooks Vereen; daughters, Shawn Vereen of Washington, DC, Nakia Shepherd of Hyattsville, MD, and April Shepherd of Upper Marlboro, MD; son, Vaughn Shepherd of Greenbelt, MD; brother, Robert Bellamy of Wilmington; and seven grandchildren.
