CERRO GORDO—Bobby Jereal “B.J.” Vereen, 79, of 281 Cedar Street, Cerro Gordo, died Monday, June 25, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Claude Vereen and Evelyn King Vereen.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 30, at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 824 Cherry Grove Road, Cerro Gordo, by Elder Robert D. Williams. Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Memorial Gardens.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service.
Surviving are his wife, Marcella Miles Vereen; daughter, Evelyn Vereen of Charlotte; sons, Bobby Vereen, Jr. of Orange Park, FL and David Vereen of District Heights, MD; sisters, Frosty B. Davis and Diantha Eady of Fair Bluff, Mildred Vereen of Chadbourn, and Ann Bullock of Jonesboro, GA; and brother, Claude Vereen, Jr. of Fair Bluff.
