WHITEVILLE—Ethelena Sumpter, 80, of 69 Sumpter Drive, Whiteville, died Saturday, January 11, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2871 Chadbourn Highway, Whiteville, by Pastor Vinston Rozier. Burial will be in the Sumpter Family Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service.
Surviving are her daughter, Ruth L. Cathcart of the home; son, Darrell Sumpter of New York, NY; sister, Ann Robinson of Whiteville; and five grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family at 2575 Chadbourn Highway, Whiteville, NC.
