CLARKTON—Bishop Harvey Dwight Williams, “The Country Boy,” 71, of 6735 Silver Spoon Road, Clarkton, died Friday, July 20, at his daughter’s home in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. J. R. Matthews. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 12:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church Saturday one hour prior to and following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Letha Brown Williams; daughters, Melisa Campbell of Durham, Carol Williams Dark of Charlotte, and Jessica Williams Robinson of Greensboro; his mother, Lillie Mae Williams of Clarkton; adopted son, Copelen Taylor of Northwest; sister, Eunice “Bunch” George of Jersey City, NJ; brothers, Russell Williams of Pikesville, MD, Clarence Henry Williams and Lottie Williams of Whiteville, Theodore Williams of Lumberton, and Gilbert Ray of Clarkton; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
