Herbert Hester Obituary
WHITEVILLE—Herbert Vander Hester, 71, of 680 Campground Road, Whiteville, died Friday, March 22, at his residence.
He was a US Army veteran.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 31, at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 443 West Virgil Street, Whiteville, by Rev. David Flowers. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Campground Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church Sunday following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Blondell Hester; daughters, Miriam Bowen and Sarita Bowen of Whiteville and Tairra Baker of Cresco, PA; son, Johnny Bowen, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; sister, Carolyn Stanbifer of Decatur, GA; brothers, Dewey Hester of Bladenboro and Jerry Hester of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
