WHITEVILLE—Jackie Talafara Register, 73, of 1507 Little Street, Whiteville, died Monday, June 24, at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 29, at Mount Hebron AME Zion Church, 570 Red Bug Road, Hallsboro, by Rev. David Flowers, pastor of Central Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Hallsboro Memorial Park.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 12:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Jewel T. Register; daughter, Natasha Register Rowell of Rocky Point; sons, Ryan Register and Conrad Powell of Hallsboro, and Jamaal Register of the home; brothers, Lafayette Register of Texas and Jeffery Register of Virginia; and six grandchildren.
