WHITEVILLE—James Edward Rogers, 79, of 736 Pinewood Drive, Whiteville, died Tuesday, April 16, at UNC Hillsborough.

A memorial service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 711 Grove Street, Whiteville, by Brother Ronald Ray.

Surviving are his wife, Myra Rogers; daughters, Renee Bailey of Danville, VA and Lydia Bethune of Raleigh; sons, James Edward Rogers, Jr. of Sumter, SC and Eric Rogers of Wilmington; sister, Rachel Richardson of Raleigh; and brother, Colon Rogers of Raleigh.
