DURHAM—Leslie Brown, Jr., 89, formerly of Clarkton, died Thursday, October 18, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
He was the son of the late Leslie Brown and Willow Mae Brooks Swindell and a veteran of the U. S. Army.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 26, at Piney Grove AME Zion Church, 540 Booker T. Washington School Road, Clarkton. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Clarkton Community Cemetery.
Viewing will be at the church Friday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service.
Surviving are his daughter, Katrina Brown of Charlotte; son, Kenneth Brown of Clarkton; sister, Phyllis Swindell of Clarkton; and brothers, Lafayette Brown of Durham and Curby Swindell of Charlotte.
