WHITEVILLE—Nellie Mae Scales Johnson, 70, of 88 Edwards Lane, Whiteville, died Thursday, October 25, at her residence.
The funeral will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, October 30, at Central Missionary Baptist Church, 443 West Virgil Street, Whiteville, by Rev. Judy V. Johnson. Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service.
Surviving are her husband, Henry B. Johnson, Jr.; daughter, Chanelle Nesmith of Canton, GA; mother, Eva Reynolds of Patrick Springs, VA; stepson, Davorick Johnson of Raeford; stepdaughter, Sheila Harris of Jersey City, NJ; sisters, Edna Preston of Greensboro, Janice Hairston of Ridgeway, VA, and Phyllis Hilton of Laurel, MD; brothers, Richard Scales of Ridgeway, VA and David Scales of Clinton, MD; and three grandchildren.
