WHITEVILLE, NC—Alfonzer Rudolph Ward, Jr., 71, of 713 West Burkhead Street, Whiteville, NC, died Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and owner of A. Ward’s Catering.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 24, at Campground Cemetery, 1309 Highway 701 Bypass North, Whiteville, NC, by Rev. Virgil Ward, eulogist; and Rev. David Flowers, officiant.
Walk-thru viewing will be Sunday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville.

Worth, TX, Denika Harper of Whiteville, NC, Onnah Monroe of Whiteville, NC, Timeshella Blanks of Whiteville, NC, Aaron Monroe of Whiteville, NC, Latoya McNeill of Lumberton, NC, Alfonzer Blanks of Whiteville, NC, Greg Jenrette of Fayetteville, NC, Terrell Jenrette of Fayetteville, NC, Phillip- Jenrette (Tracelia) of Tabor City, NC, and Timothy Vinson of Lakeside, SC; mother, Thelma Ward of the home; sisters, Evelyn Rorie (Bobby), Alfredia Godwin (Harrison), and Ruth Nadine Ward of Whiteville, NC; brothers, Roscoe Hemmingway (Estelle) of Nakina, NC and Tony Ward (Priscilla) of Whiteville, NC.
