WHITEVILLE—Alice Gaynell McKenzie Stephens, 86, of Whiteville, died Monday, May 27, 2024, at Columbus Regional healthcare System.

The funeral will be 12:00 PM Saturday, June 1, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 5548 Silver Spoon Road, Whiteville, NC, by Rev. Algernon McKenzie.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery #2.

Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Saturday following the service.

Surviving are her daughters, Bettina Stephens, Alice E. George, and Tarsha Featherson of Whiteville, and Audrey McCullum of Hallsboro, NC; sons, Frederick Stephens of Whiteville and Thomas Stephens of the home; sisters, Lillian Dobbs of Irvington, NJ, Gaythan McKenzie of Jersey City, NJ, and Jesteen Stephens of Whiteville.
