Barbara Ann (Elleby) Smith

WHITEVILLE—Barbara Ann Elleby Smith, 77, of Whiteville, died Friday, October 27, 2023, at home.

She was the daughter of the late James and Anna Dewitt Elleby and wife of Edgar Smith of Whiteville.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 2, at Peoples Funeral Chapel by Rev. Tonie Vereene.  Burial will be in the Columbus County Singing Union Cemetery.

Viewing will be at the funeral home chapel Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Thursday one hour prior to the service.

Surviving are her daughters, Valerie King of the home and Heather Brown of Whiteville; sons, Russell Elleby of Linden, NC and Timothy Elleby of Charlotte, NC; sister, Lendora Holmes of New York and Samuel Elleby of South Carolina.
