GARNER—Colene Baldwin Stanley, 94, formerly of Lake Waccamaw, died Wednesday, May 9, at Bella Rose Nursing and Rehab Center in Garner.
She was a lifelong member of the Little Wheel of Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Waccamaw, and was active for many years with Brunswick-Waccamaw Missionary Baptist Association, the General Baptist State Convention, and Lott Carey Foreign Missions. She was formerly employed by SENCLAND, a community action program.
The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Stanley will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, at Christian Faith Baptist Church, 509 Hilltop Drive in Raleigh, by Rev. Dr. David Forbes, Jr. A final service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Association Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road in Whiteville. Interment will be in the Millican Cemetery in Whiteville.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Monday from 12:00 to 7:00 PM and at Christian Faith Baptist Church Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Viewing will be at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Tuesday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after either service.
She is survived by her son, Pryce Baldwin of Garner; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
