WHITEVILLE, NC—David Elwood Barnes, 73, of 104 Knight’s Cove Apartments, Whiteville, NC, died Thursday, July 1, 2021, at his home.
He was a US Army veteran.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 10, at Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Millican Cemetery.
Viewing will be at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Angela Smith Barnes; father, Bernard Barnes of Maryland; stepdaughter, Valarie Allen of Greensboro, NC; stepson, Eric Smith of Birmingham, AL; and several brothers and sisters.
