WHITEVILLE—David Lee George, 78, of Whiteville, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
The funeral will be 12:00 Noon Friday, March 20, at Brunswick-Waccamaw Baptist Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, NC. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Welches Creek Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the headquarters Friday 30 minutes prior to and following the service.
Surviving are his sisters, Bernadean George of Whiteville and Wychulia Stewart of Nashville, NC; brothers, Barnell George and Larry George of Whiteville and Levie George of Philadelphia, PA.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to donate to Barnell George for David George Memorial Park, PO Box 862, Whiteville, NC 28472.
