TABOR CITY—Dominic LaQuin Jackson, 33, formerly of Cerro Gordo, died Sunday, July 5, 2020, at home in Tabor City.

He was born in Washington, DC, son of Doris Jackson of Cerro Gordo and the late Haywood “Woody” Vaughn, III.

He attended 12th Street Christian Church; and after moving to Cerro Gordo, he attended Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church.  He graduated from West Columbus High School and became employed by Columbus County Schools and Community Innovations.  He had a passion for music and loved children.

A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 11, at Mount Tabor Memorial Gardens, 221 Charles Ford Road, Cerro Gordo, by Pastor Robert D. Williams.  Walk-through viewing will be Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Haywood Vaughn, IV (Laketa), Marcus Thomas (Asia), and Clifton Bernard; sisters, Kimberly Carter and Kenyatta Thomas; stepmother, Wanda Vaughn; special friends, Shamain Bryant, Logan Todd, Gregory Huggins (Brittany), Eddie Johnson, and Derik Brigman; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
