HALLSBORO, NC—Donald James Freeman, 83, of 390 Jockey Road, Hallsboro, NC, died Thursday, May 22, 2025, at home.

The funeral will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 29, at Mount Hebron AME Zion Church, 570 Red Bug Road, Hallsboro, NC.  Burial will be in the Hallsboro Memorial Park.

Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Thursday following the service.

Surviving are his daughters, Sheila Lewis of Hallsboro, NC and Regina Martin of Kittrell, NC; sister, Judy M. Alston of Wake Forest, NC; and brother, Henry Wells Freeman of Fayetteville, NC.
