WHITEVILLE—Earkin Parker, Jr., 77, of Brunswick, NC, died Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 8, at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1980 Mill Pond Road, Whiteville, NC, by Rev. Charles Parker and Rev. Anthony Rowell, Pastor.  Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.

Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Saturday 30 minutes prior to the service.

Surviving are his daughter, Melissa Powell of High Point, NC; son, James Henry Smith of Lumberton, NC; sister, Gloria Riddick Barr of Bolton, NC; brother, Charles Parker of Whiteville; stepchildren, Jacqueline Scott of Columbia, SC, Cynthia Love of Chadbourn, NC, Diana Love of Greensboro, NC, LaTonya So of Whitsett, NC, and Jerry McBride of Whiteville.
