WHITEVILLE—Edith Long Smith, 83, of Whiteville, died Friday, July 3, 2026, at home.

The funeral will be 1:00 PM Friday, July 10, at Central Baptist Church, 443 West Virgil Street, Whiteville, NC, by Pastor David A. Flowers.  Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.

Viewing will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

Surviving are her son, Tremain Smith of the home; sisters, Daisy Nelson of Brown Summit, NC, Evelyn Long of Rahway, NJ, Brenda Fladger of South Plainfield, NJ, and Jackie Smith of Whiteville; brother, Samuel Long of Hillside, NJ; and three grandchildren.
