WHITEVILLE, NC—Ellis Jones, Jr., 71, of 216 North Thompson Street, Whiteville, NC, died Friday, June 25, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House in Whiteville.
He was a retired U. S. Army veteran.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 3, at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1980 Millpond Road, Whiteville, NC, by Pastor John Langley of Mill Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.
Surviving are his son, Christopher Jenrette of Maryland; former wife, Eileen Jones; stepson, Allen Smith of Ohio; sisters, Mary Ann Jones, Phyllis McKoy, Virginia Green, and Karen Bryant of Whiteville, NC; brothers, Danny Jones, Rudolph Jones, and Herman Jones of Whiteville, NC, Herbert Jones of New Mexico, and Bobby Jones of Florida; and six grandchildren.
