WHITEVILLE—Ethel Faye McQueen Godwin, 74, of Whiteville, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at home.
The funeral will be 12:00 PM Friday, March 15, at Brunswick-Waccamaw Baptist Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, NC, by Rev. Algernon McKenzie. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery #2.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and ritualistic ceremonies will begin at 5:30 PM. Viewing will be at the Headquarters Friday one hour prior to the services.
Surviving are her daughter, Tahitian McKenzie; sisters, Arvella McQueen-Smith of Washington, DC, Emma Best of New Jersey, and Venesta Ruffin of Durham, NC; brothers, John McQueen of Delaware, Phillip McQueen of New York, and James McQueen of South Carolina; and two granddaughters.
Due to the increase in communicable viruses, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be limited to phone calls and visits be made only at the funeral home during the visitation on Thursday.
