WHITEVILLE—Fennell Yates, III, 47, of Whiteville, died Friday, July 17, 2026, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 23, at Brunswick-Waccamaw Baptist Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, NC, by Elder Eric McCollum. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery #2.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Thursday following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Kherrington LeSane Yates; children, Ashajanae LeSane-Powell of Winston-Salem, NC and Jahan LeSane-Powell of the home; mother, Barbara S. Yates of Whiteville; sister, Whitney Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Aaron Yates of Tucson, AZ.
The family will receive friends at 74 James Lewis Drive, Chadbourn, NC.
