WHITEVILLE—Fred Mason, Jr., 60, of 53 Hunt Road, Whiteville, NC, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.

He was a member of Fair Bluff Fire & Rescue Department.

The funeral will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, at Brunswick-Waccamaw Baptist Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, NC.  Burial will be in the Horace Grove Community Cemetery.

Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Tuesday 30 minutes prior to and following the service.

Surviving are his daughter, Whitney Johnson of Whiteville; mother, Kinie Smith Mason of Boardman, NC; sisters, Pam Geiger of Hallsboro, NC and Rose Pettiway of Massachusetts; brothers, Walter Mason of Whiteville, Albert Smith of Lumberton, NC, and Michael Smith of Chadbourn, NC.

Friends may visit the family at 2548 Macedonia Church Road, Evergreen, NC.
