LAKE WACCAMAW, NC—George Woodrow Mitchell, 78, of 7585 Chaunceytown Road, Lake Waccamaw, NC, died Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jo Anderson Mitchell.

The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 2, at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, 3245 Old Northeast Road, Lake Waccamaw, NC, by Rev. Curt Locklear.  Burial will be in the Saint James Memorial Cemetery.

Viewing will be at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service, at which time the family will receive friends.

Surviving are his son, George Mitchell, Jr. (Maritza) of Austin, TX; daughter, Natasha Maree of Yardley, PA; sisters, Mamie Spaulding, Hattie Spaulding (Henry), Bulah Mitchell, Lucy Young, and Catherine Spaulding (Wilbert) of Lake Waccamaw, NC; and Ann Mahoney of Florida.
