CLARKTON, NC—Hazel Mae Batchelor Mitchell, 74, of 204 Blanks Road, Clarkton, NC, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 5, at Union Baptist Church, 2290 Old Northeast Road, Lake Waccamaw, NC, by Pastor Gregory Spaulding.  Burial will be in the Mitchell Field Cemetery.

Viewing will be at the church Friday one hour prior to the service.

Surviving are her husband, Andrew B. Mitchell; children, Melinda Edwards of Charlotte, NC, Michael Mitchell of Cape Cod, FL, and Crystal Whitfield of the home; sisters, Judy Batchelor and Vernita Manuel of Richmond, VA; brother, Thelbert Batchelor, Jr. of Monterey, CA; and grandson reared as a son, Christopher Whitfield of Clarkton, NC.
