CORNELIUS, NC—Helena Gumbs Best, 60, formerly of Whiteville, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 10, at Peoples Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Hallsboro Memorial Park.
Viewing will be at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are her son, Sean Allen of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Wenona Beecher of Durham, NC; sisters, Lucinda Gumbs of Bronx, NY and Dena Drayton of Manhattan, NY; brothers, J. D. Mosley of Columbia, SC, Harry Drayton of Manhattan, NY, and Theodore Mosley of California; and two grandchildren.
