WHITEVILLE—Herman Lee Jones, 83, of 494 Jones-Edwards Circle, Whiteville, NC, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 21, at Mill Branch Baptist Church, 645 Harrelsonville Road, Whiteville, NC, by Pastor John Langley.  Burial will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.

Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Wednesday following the service.

Surviving are his wife, Fannie Elizabeth Jones; sons, Curtis Jones of Whiteville, Keith Jones of Raleigh, NC, Herman Jones, Jr. of Knightdale, NC, Gerald Jones of Whiteville, and Terry Jones of Lompoc, CA; daughters, Sybil Morris of Indian Head, MD, Chancey Vereen of Whiteville, and Sherry McElroy of Chicago, IL; sisters, Juanita Green, Phyllis McKoy, and Denise Bryant of Whiteville; brothers, Danny Jones of Whiteville, Herbert Jones of New Mexico, and Bobby Jones of Whiteville.
