WHITEVILLE—Hubert Lee Best, Jr., 64, of 650 Best Road, Whiteville, NC, died Monday, January 27, 2025, at home.

The funeral will be 12:00 PM Saturday, February 1, at Jerusalem Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 6424 Chadbourn Highway, Chadbourn, NC.  Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bladenboro, NC.

Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Saturday 30 minutes prior to and following the service.

Surviving are his children, Tyree Best, Jaleel Best, and Dynia Alizé Walker of Maryland, Naamah Bailey of New Jersey, and Alonta Johnson of Whiteville; sisters, Denise Best, Patrilla Carson, Tondelayo Williams, and Lakisha Best of Durham, NC; brothers, Lamorris Conrad Best of Whiteville and Jeffrey O’neil Best of Wilmington, NC.
