WHITEVILLE—James Oliver Bland, 71, of 1408 Union Valley Road, Whiteville, died Monday, April 20, at his residence.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A graveside service, for immediate family only, will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 25, at Hallsboro Memorial Park, 1361 Hallsboro Road South, Hallsboro, by Rev. Maria Lacewell.
Walk-through viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie Boone Bland; sisters, Retha Allen of Riegelwood, Maria Lacewell and Diane Pyatt of Bolton, Merita Graham of Delco, Brenda Freeman of Hallsboro, and Iris McKoy of Durham; brothers, Larry Bland of Whiteville and Randy McKoy of Durham; and a grandson, Roman Bland of the home.
