OWINGS MILLS, MD—James Thomas Gowans, 90, formerly of Cerro Gordo, NC, died Monday, September 18, 2023, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, MD.

The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 30, at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 824 Cherry Grove Road, Cerro Gordo, NC.  Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be at the church Saturday 30 minutes prior to the service.

Surviving are sisters, Pearl McGill and Valdenia Brown of Baltimore, MD, Margaret Franklin and Harriet McDowell of Cerro Gordo, NC, Christine Richburg of Gwynn Oak, MD, and Ida Gowans-Beasley of Owings Mills, MD; brothers, Paul Gowans of Philadelphia, PA and Raymond Gowans of Cerro Gordo, NC.
