FAYETTEVILLE, NC—Rev. Dr. Jay Richard Leach, 86, of Fayetteville, NC, died Monday, August 3, 2026, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was founder of Bread of Life Ministries, Inc. and a retired veteran of the U. S. Army.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 12, at Brunswick-Waccamaw Baptist Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, NC, by Dr. Tonia Bonner. Burial, with full military honors, will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, August 13, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Headquarters Wednesday 30 minutes prior to and following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Magdalene Threadgill Leach; daughters, Janel Frazier, Sonja Vonwald, and Tonia Bonner of Fayetteville, NC; sons, Jay Richard Leach, Jr. and Jayson Leach of Fayetteville, NC.
