GOLDSBORO, NC—Jerome Wendell Shipman, 88, of Goldsboro, NC, died Saturday, June 13, 2026, at home.

He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 26, at Piney Grove AME Zion Church, 540 Booker T. Washington School Road, Clarkton, NC.  Burial will be in Mitchell Field Cemetery.

There will be no public viewing.

A Memorial Service will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, June 25, at First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris Street, Goldsboro, NC.

Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn Vivian George Shipman; daughter, Toni Shipman of Goldsboro, NC; son, Darryl Shipman of Goldsboro, NC; and brother, Gordon Shipman of Plainfield, NJ.
