He was a US Army veteran
A Graveside Service, with military honors, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 1, at New Hope Community Cemetery, Sarah Peterson Road, Council, NC, by Pastor Priscilla L. Jackson of Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Viewing will be Monday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville.
Surviving are his wife, Velma Marcella Chancy; daughters, Ursula P. Jones (Ray) Tabatha Chancy, and Jettrice Chancy of Texas, and Shaniyere Williamson (Isaiah) of Raeford, NC; stepdaughters, LaWanda McKinnon and Erin McKinnon of Charlotte, NC; stepson, Edward McKinnon of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Katie Menser of Florida and Ida Godwin (Carl) of Council, NC; brothers, Fredrick Chancy of Elizabethtown, NC and Curtis Chancy of Council, NC.
