SHALLOTTE—Joseph Windell Burney, 75, of 5871 Washington Road, SW, Shallotte, died Sunday. February 9, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare of Bolivia.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 15, at Big Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 405 Big Macedonia Road, Supply, by Pastor Felix Simmons. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Longwood.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Saturday one hour prior to and following the service.
Surviving are his daughters, Gloria Burney and Tammy Burney of Supply and Sonya Burney of Charlotte; sons, Joseph Burney of Wilmington and Reggie Burney of Conway, SC; sister, Anne Brown of Whiteville; brothers, Alvin Burney of Supply, William Burney of Hernando, MS, and James Burney of Radcliff, KY.
