WHITEVILLE—Mark Anthony McCray, Jr., 10-year-old-son of Shireese McKenzie of Whiteville and Mark McCray of Chadbourn, died Friday, December 20, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 28, at the Lawrence Bowers Cultural Arts Center, 413 North Lee Street, Whiteville, by Pastor Wendy McKoy of Shady Grove AME Zion Church. Burial will be in the New Hope Community Cemetery in Council.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and at the Bowers Center Saturday one hour prior to and following the service.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Iyanna Kimani Powell of Whiteville; maternal grandparents, Otto and LaTania McKenzie of Whiteville; paternal grandparents, Larry and Tenneace Everette of Chadbourn and Garry and Tamika McCray of Whiteville; and maternal great-grandfather, Samuel Blanks of Council.
