WHITEVILLE, NC—Matthew “Pie Baby” Drayton, 71, of 621 Nolan Avenue, Whiteville, NC, died Monday, November 29, 2021, at Regency Hospital in Florence, SC.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 5, at Facts of Life Church, 506 North Lee Street, Whiteville, NC, by Rev. James L. Smith. Burial will be in the Campground Cemetery.
Viewing will be Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville and at the church Sunday following the service.
Surviving are his daughters, Tameka McCollum Thomas of Calabash, NC, Tiffiney Kemp of Raleigh, NC, Shireese Mullins of Georgia, Melissa McCollum of Whiteville, NC, and Cynthia Smith of Charlotte, NC; sons, Tony Drayton of Whiteville, NC, Otis Drayton and Johnny Drayton of Clarkton, NC, Anthony McCollum of Charlotte, NC, and Jamal Aaron of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Willie Mae McKoy, Veora Holland, Macie Swindell, Gracie Powell, Drucilla Smith, and Shirley Jones; brothers, Horace Drayton, Leon Drayton, Floyd Drayton, and William Drayton; and lifelong companion, Ernestine McCallum.
