DURHAM, NC—Melba Ruth Maultsby Hester, 88, formerly of Bladenboro, NC, died Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 8, at Bryant Swamp Baptist Church by Dr. Thurman Everett. Burial will be in the Singletary Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be at the church Saturday 30 minutes prior to the service.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudette Higgs of Durham, NC.
