FAYETTEVILLE, NC—Tom Alston, Jr., 86, of 1714 Scampton Drive, Fayetteville, NC, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 21, at The New Townsend Temple Ministries, 273 Smith Lane, Bolton, NC by Rev. Reginald Johnston. Burial will be in the Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Riegelwood.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Friday 30 minutes prior to and following the service.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Daniels-Alston; daughters, Tonia Alston-Brewer and Trina Alston of Buffalo, NY, and Mashonia Daniels of Riegelwood, NC; sons, Thomas Alston of Texas, Tyrone Alston of Buffalo, NY, Timothy Brown of Moore, SC, Paul Brown of Spartanburg, SC, and Larry Daniels, Jr. of Riegelwood, NC; sister, Jean Young of Buffalo, NY; and brothers, Sam Ham and Marvin Alston of Buffalo, NY.
Friends may visit the family at 48 Keith Lane, Riegelwood, NC.
