WHITEVILLE—Tony Edward Shipman, 68, of 3557 Tom Sessions Road, Whiteville, NC, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Duke University Hospital.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 10, at Union Baptist Church, 2290 Old Northeast Road, Lake Waccamaw, NC.  Cremation will follow.

Viewing will be at the church Thursday 30 minutes prior to the service.

Surviving are his wife, Sonya J. Shipman; son, Edward Remille Shipman of Raleigh, NC; stepdaughters, Shaina Y. Hall of Cary, NC and Shawnee B. Jacobs of Durham, NC; sisters, Phyllis Wilson of Whiteville and Carolyn Smith of Bolton, NC; brother, Cornelius Shipman of Whiteville.
